Human Resources (HR) Specialist - Talent Acquisition

The HR Specialist will play an important supportive role to ensure a smooth recruitment process for candidates and hiring teams alike. What You’ll Do:
- Support the full-cycle recruitment process for full-time and intern hires including drafting and sending offer letters and the pre-employment process
- Assist with the employee relocation process for new hires including the creation and submission of relocation documents
- Partner with HR team members and hiring managers to understand requirements for new hires
- Communicate openings and status updates to HR team members by attending routine meetings and managing recruitment status spreadsheet
- Assist with college campus recruiting process, including coordinating and attending career fairs, understanding college recruitment resources, and ensuring displays/materials are relevant and up to date
- Evaluate sourcing strategies and identify innovative ways to proactively attract qualified candidates and passive job seekers
- Analyze applicant sources, college recruiting success, and other related metrics
- Collaborate with HR team to identify and implement process improvements
- Provide recommendations for improving the pre-hire process to ensure strong selection and an excellent candidate experience
- Assist Talent Acquisition leader and team with coordination of events, meetings, etc.
- Occasional travel during the college recruitment season may be required
What We’re Looking For:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is preferred
- Experience:
- Experience in an administrative, human resources, or similar support role
- Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus
- Skills:
- Extremely organized and comfortable multi-tasking
- Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- High level of professionalism and tact
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to provide quality work in a timely manner
- High level of confidentiality
- Technology:
- Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Work, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience utilizing an ATS (applicant tracking system) is a plus
- Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire
- Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work in the office 3 days per week – upon successful training, the ability to work remote 2 days per week will be available
- Must be located in the Des Moines, IA area or relocating prior to starting (no relocation assistance provided)
